Job Title: Spray Drone Pilot
Location: Field-based (travel required)
Reports To: Operations Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time / SeasonalPOSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Spray Drone Pilot to operate agricultural spray drones for herbicide, pesticide, fertilizer, and vegetation management applications. The pilot will be responsible for safe drone operations, accurate chemical application, equipment maintenance, and compliance with FAA Part 107 and applicable pesticide regulations.
This role involves working outdoors in agricultural, industrial, and remote environments and may require travel to job sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Drone Operations
Operate agricultural spray drones for vegetation management, crop spraying, and land management projects
Plan and execute spray missions using drone flight planning software
Monitor weather, wind conditions, and terrain to ensure safe and effective application
Chemical Application
Mix and load herbicides, pesticides, or fertilizers according to label instructions
Calibrate spray equipment for accurate application rates
Maintain chemical handling safety and environmental compliance
Record application rates, acreage covered, and product usage
Equipment Maintenance
Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections of drones and spraying systems
Perform basic maintenance such as cleaning tanks, checking pumps, replacing nozzles, and battery management
Report equipment issues and assist with repairs
Field Operations
Transport drones, batteries, chemicals, and support equipment to job sites
Set up landing zones and safety perimeters
Coordinate with landowners, farmers, or project managers
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate flight logs and application records
Comply with state pesticide application regulations and safety standards

Required
Ability to Pass a Physical
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites
Ability to lift 50–70 lbs (batteries, spray tanks, equipment)
Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
Preferred
Agricultural spraying or pesticide application experience
Valid FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate(or willingness to obtain)
State pesticide applicator license (or willingness to obtain)
Experience operating agricultural spray drones
Mechanical aptitude for maintaining drone equipment

The Spray Drone Pilot Assistant supports the drone pilot in agricultural and vegetation management spray operations. This role focuses on preparing chemicals, managing batteries, maintaining equipment, and assisting with safe and efficient drone missions.
The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working outdoors in agricultural and industrial environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Flight Operation Support
Assist the drone pilot during spray operations
Monitor drone flights and maintain visual awareness of surrounding conditions
Help set up safe takeoff and landing zones
Communicate obstacles, weather changes, or hazards to the pilot
Chemical Mixing & Handling
Measure, mix, and load herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers according to label instructions
Refill spray tanks between flights
Follow proper chemical handling, storage, and safety procedures
Maintain records of products used and quantities applied
Battery & Equipment Management
Charge, rotate, and manage drone batteries throughout the day
Transport batteries between charging stations and drones
Assist with pre-flight and post-flight inspections
Clean spray tanks, pumps, and nozzles after operations
Equipment Transport & Setup
Help load and unload drones, batteries, chemicals, and support equipment
Set up mobile charging stations and field work areas
Maintain organized workspaces to keep operations efficient
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety procedures for chemical handling and drone operations
Assist in maintaining accurate job records and application logs
Support compliance with FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate operational rules and state pesticide regulations
